The Gill portable discus, shot, and indoor weight cages are fabricated from 2 1/2 schedule 40 aluminum pipe. Net poles have 33 rolled offsets and are mounted on heavy steel bases. The standard narrow mouth layout, (recommended by the NCAA), takes into account the narrow 34.92 degree sector and greatly reduces the possibility of an errant throw landing outside the landing sector. The cage can also be opened up to conform to a 40 or 60 degree throwing sector for practice if field conditions allow for a much larger landing zone. The 14' tall by 55' main net is constructed of #504 weather-treated nylon netting with a breaking strength of over 200 lbs. Replacement net is available for this cage.
